The BreakRoom
The BreakRoom is specially designed for SS3 students
The BreakRoom is specially designed for SS3 students for two reasons:
- They face the pressure that comes from writing their first major external examinations that would determine how/if they proceed to their institution of higher learning of choice.
- They are about to make the leap from the “supervised child” to the “unsupervised adult”.
These factors could leave them with feelings of uncertainty and self-doubt on one hand, and on the other hand, the readiness to throw caution to the wind in anticipation of the “new-found freedom” that awaits. The aim of the BreakRoom, therefore, is to adequately prepare them for their next phase of life by reaffirming and re-enforcing important values, teaching them, among other things, to handle life’s challenges and exposing them to evolving career opportunities.
The BreakRoom is conducted as a series of interactive mentorship sessions with experienced speakers who are invited for this purpose. The speakers are usually young, positively influential entrepreneurs and professionals who are drawn from all walks of life, thriving in unconventional careers like food blogging, photography, travels and blogging, and social media influencing.
Students also get to watch compelling movies and documentaries and participate in boot camps.
