On Thursday the 7th of November, 2019 our Generator repairs students went on an excursion to Mikano International Headquarters in Lagos.
The excursion kicked off with Health Safety Education (HSE) Training. The technical students were then taken on an experiential learning tour to the Mikano generator assembly plant where they were taken through the process of servicing a MTU diesel engine series 4000 MO5, identified parts of the Perlins and Yorc diesel engines, and their relative positions. The experience would serve to further reinforce all that they had been taught in the classroom.
Students also had the opportunity to learn more about the automobile engine as they were introduced to Mikano’s new-state-of-the-art 4Runner SUV called the Mikano Rich 6.
The excursion was indeed an eye-opener for the students as they were exposed to the possibilities that abound in the field of mechanical engineering.
