On Thursday, February 7, 2018, some of our food and nutrition/catering students visited Chef Eros` kitchen and restaurant (Ile Eros), to participate in some day-to-day kitchen activities that would complement their classroom learning.
Chef Tolu Erogbogbo better known as Chef Eros is one of Nigeria`s leading chefs. He is a creator of exquisite gourmet food, and founder of Cookie Jar Bakery, and Eros and Gourmet, a culinary service company.
We were welcomed by the general manager, Mrs Funke Olusoga-Ogunlade who took us on a tour of the kitchen. We were taken through the process of grilling a steak and taught the art of exquisite food presentation by one of the sous chefs, Chef John and his team.
Chef Eros answered a number of questions from the students, many of which centered on a career in the culinary arts. He spoke to them on the importance of belief in oneself, hard work and patience as they aim for the top. He shared that his love for good food motivated him to be a chef, but consistency and drive helped him attain his current success.
The delighted students were presented with tasty cupcakes from the Cookie Jar Bakery and took some pictures with Chef Eros and his team as the excursion came to an end.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the entire Ile Eros team for such an insightful excursion. We are grooming the next generation of extra-ordinary chefs who would break boundaries.
